Warranty Terms

BRIbuild Warranty Coverage

BRIbuild kit homes are framed with BlueScope TRUECORE steel, which is covered by BlueScope’s 50-year warranty on the steel. BRIbuild backyard pods and studios also carry a 7-year component warranty from BRIbuild.

TRUECORE Steel Frames — 50 Year BlueScope Warranty

Kit homes framed with TRUECORE steel are covered by a 50-year warranty from BlueScope Steel, Australia’s largest steel manufacturer. This is a warranty on the TRUECORE steel itself (steel only – it is not a structural, workmanship or whole-of-home warranty), covering the steel against manufacturing defects when installed according to BlueScope’s specifications and our engineering documentation. TRUECORE is a high-tensile, zinc/aluminium alloy coated steel product designed specifically for residential framing. The 50-year warranty period exceeds any equivalent warranty available on timber framing products in the Australian market.

The TRUECORE warranty is a product manufacturer’s warranty provided by BlueScope and is subject to BlueScope’s warranty terms and conditions.

Backyard Pods and Studios — 7 Year Component Warranty

BRIbuild backyard pods and garden studios carry a 7-year component warranty covering the structural steel members against manufacturing defects. This warranty applies to the wall frames, roof trusses, and subfloor components supplied as part of the pod or studio. It does not apply to kit homes or granny flats, which are covered by the BlueScope TRUECORE steel warranty above.

What the Warranty Covers

The 7-year component warranty covers defects in the steel framing components that affect the structural performance of the building. This includes material defects in the steel itself, manufacturing defects in the roll-forming process, and coating defects that lead to premature corrosion under normal environmental exposure.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Neither warranty covers damage caused by incorrect installation that deviates from our engineering documentation and construction manual. It does not cover modifications made to the frame after delivery without our written engineering approval. It does not cover corrosion resulting from contact with incompatible materials (such as direct contact between steel and green treated timber or wet concrete). It does not cover damage from events beyond normal service conditions, including impact damage, fire, flood, or deliberate misuse.

Cladding, roofing, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, and internal finishes are not supplied by BRIbuild as standard and are not covered by our warranty. These items carry their own manufacturer warranties from the suppliers you source them from.

Engineering Certification

Every BRIbuild kit home is supplied with structural engineering certification sealed by a registered structural engineer. This certification confirms the design complies with the relevant Australian Standards (AS 4100, AS/NZS 4600) and the National Construction Code. The engineering certification is a permanent record of the structural design — retain it with your building permit documentation for the life of the building.
