Steel frame kit homes for sloping blocks. A steel subfloor on piers follows the fall of the land, so the home sits above the slope with far less excavation than a slab.
Sloping block floor plans
These 2 designs are drawn for sloping sites, and most other plans in the range can be adapted to a steel subfloor.

View planWhy steel suits a slope
On a sloping site the cost and risk are in the ground: excavation, retaining walls and drainage. A steel subfloor on piers of different heights lets the floor sit level above the slope with far less earthwork. The subfloor, like the frame, is engineered for the soil classification and wind region of the block.
The Kinglake is a 66 m² two bedroom cabin with a single-slope roof that lifts toward the view. The Tamborine is a 144 m² three bedroom home with a skillion roof that rises the same way.
What is in the kit
Our kits are structure-only: steel wall frames, roof structure and a subfloor where the design needs one, with site-specific engineering, footing design and council-ready drawings. Frames are roll-formed from BlueScope TRUECORE steel and arrive labelled and sequenced for assembly. Cladding, roofing sheets, windows, doors and fit-out are not included, so you can source them locally. See the full inclusions.
Sloping block kit home questions
Can you build a kit home on a steep block?
Often, yes. How steep is workable depends on access, the soil and the pier heights the engineering allows. Send us the site address or a survey and we will tell you what is possible.
Do I need a concrete slab on a sloping block?
Usually not. A steel subfloor on piers avoids most of the excavation a slab would need. The footing design is part of the site-specific engineering.
What do you need from me to design for a slope?
A contour survey or the site address, a soil report if you have one, and where you want the home to sit. We assist you with drafting, council planning and DA, and building permits.
